Am I an Animal?
Bird Scanography
My partner and I document the lives and deaths of birds that collide with buildings, a phenomenon that kills nearly one billion birds each year. Many of these deaths occur during migration, when birds are most vulnerable. I salvaged these birds for the Ohio State University Museum of Biological Diversity under their federal and state salvage permits. I was permitted to hold the birds temporarily for my artwork and promptly transferred them to the museum for permanent preservation for scientific research.
